  WHAT’S LIVING IN Bromley LIKE?

Relatively close to the action of Central London but far enough away to be peaceful, Bromley has long been one of the best spots in London for families to settle down. Many of the homes here are single-family houses that have all the charm and character you could hope for in London. There are smaller houses around the edges of town, but Bromley Park, in the center of the neighborhood, is surrounded by more stately homes. Newer developments have added flats of all sizes to the mix.

There’s a lot to do in Bromley as well. The neighborhood has over 100 restaurants to explore, offering everything from Chinese buffets to upscale Italian. One of the most popular spots in town is the Lavender House cafe, which has become a gathering place for the community.

Shopping is plentiful here, too. You'll find a mix of chain stores, independent boutiques, and even a few high end retailers moving their way into the community. An open air market and pop-up shops add to the options. A few cinemas in town play both art house movies and the latest Hollywood blockbusters.

A few gyms dot the area. The best known is the Pavilion Leisure Centre, which has a fitness center, swimming pool, group fitness classes, and a bowling alley! Outdoor life is important to the people who live here and they have very active sports clubs and activities.

There are several excellent schools here catering to children of all ages.

Bromley is bordered on the north by Downham, on the east by Widmore, on the south by Hayes, and on the west by Beckenham.
