  WHAT’S LIVING IN Camberwell LIKE?

Located south of the Thames in Central London, Camberwell is a neighborhood with a mix of trendy parts and some rough areas. In the trendy part of town you'll find Victorian terraces that can accomodate families of all sizes. In the rougher part of towns you'll find sprawling old council estates. Overall, housing is on the cheaper side, though prices are increasing as Camberwell gains interest from the hipster set.

There is a diverse population here, including artists, students, recent grads just starting out, doctors and staff from a local mental hospital, and a very large African and Caribbean community.

Camberwell has a good selection of restaurants, most of which are affordable to cater to the student population. Several good pubs provide hangouts for students, artists, and professionals. The students tend to stick to the trendier bars around Camberwell Church Street and the professionals tend to go to some of the more obscure places.

Camberwell has several smaller parks where you can walk your dog, take your kids to the playgrounds, or sit on a bench with a good book.

Camberwell is bordered on the north by Walworth, on the east by Peckham, on the south by Herne Hill, and on the west by Stockwell.
