  WHAT’S LIVING IN Chislehurst LIKE?

Chislehurst is a thoroughly green, affluent village in south London. This is where you come for a quiet lifestyle when you don’t want to go 'too country'. Duck ponds, woodlands, and perfectly manicured fields surround a quaint town center.

Its Royal Parade is lined with boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, a grocery store, and basic services like a dry cleaner. This isn't the place people come to for a nightlife, but there are some solid pubs around when you want to grab a pint with friends. The local library is another focal point, hosting community events and children's' activities.

It's easy to get out of the house and be active here. You've got a local golf course, a cricket club, and the Chislehurst Caves, which feature 22 miles of tunnels and are a local tourist attraction. The Green Chain Walk, which is a 40-mile long nature trail that passes through a number of suburbs, has a trailhead that starts at the edge of town.

You'll find a mix of homes in Chislehurst, ranging from small cottages to Victorian- and Edwardian-style terraces to standalone Arts & Crafts-style mansions on large properties. This is one of the more expensive neighborhoods in South London thanks to its desirability and amenities.

If you've got children, there are a number of excellent schools in the area.

Despite its distance from the City, you can be in the center of London in just over 30 minutes via train. For frequent flyers, Gatwick Airport isn't too far.

Chislehurst is bordered on the north by New Eltham, on the east by Sidcup and Orpington, on the south by Petts Wood East, and on the west by Bromley.
