Forest Gate has an above average violent crime rate and an average property crime rate for London.
Forest Gate is a residential neighborhood filled to the brim with houses and parks. There’s nothing to set it apart from surrounding neighborhoods, but that isn’t a bad thing. You'll find great transit connections to the major business districts, solid restaurants, and terrific schools, and the area is safe enough to let your children run around outside.
Many of the properties here are single-family Victorians or Georgian style homes, though you will find some apartments as well.
Forest Gate is bordered on the north by Wanstead, on the east by Manor Park and East Ham, on the south by Plaistow, and on the west by Stratford.
