  WHAT’S LIVING IN Lambeth LIKE?

Lambeth used to be a marshland, but these days it's a vibrant, urban neighborhood perched on the banks of the Thames. Its location makes it popular with people who like to spend time outdoors; the path alongside the river makes a great place to go for a run or walk or your dog.

There are a plenty of homes on the market here, which makes it relatively affordable given the great lifestyle Lambeth offers. A lot of these options are affordable apartments that have been converted from older homes. There are also Victorian terraces as well that tend to go to City workers looking for a short commute.

Many people who live there will tell you that the area never really goes to sleep thanks to a generous amount of pubs, bars, and lively restaurants. There are also some great shopping zones with everything from chain stores to independent retailers.

Lambeth has a strong cultural scene as well. Lambeth Palace is the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury and offers guided tours of the ground. Nearby is the Imperial War Museum. The Gasworks is a former industrial site that now hosts artists' studios and exhibitions. And Lambeth's central location makes it a premier choice for hosting festivals, concerts, and other large scale events.

Lambeth is bordered on the north by South Bank, on the east by Elephant & Castle, on the south by Vauxhall, and on the west by the River Thames.
