  WHAT’S LIVING IN Mayfair LIKE?

Mayfair is one of the most gorgeous, expensive neighborhoods in all of London. It's filled with 18th-century mansions and Edwardian apartment buildings that look exactly as you would imagine: elegant, romantic, and ultra posh. Wandering the streets might make you think you've happened upon a massive car dealership for Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, and Bentley cars as those brands are pretty much the only ones you'll see.

The appeal of this area is that you won’t find it in many tourist books, but there is still a lot to do. For those that like to indulge, there are picturesque streets lined with stores and boutiques that sell designer clothing, home decor, jewelry, food, and even pet supplies. These stores are decidedly not for tourists but rather for those who want to decorate a new sitting room or spoil a family member.

When you're feeling cultural, there are a few places in Mayfair including the Royal Academy of Arts museum and several art galleries, For a night out you can take your pick from dozens of restaurants, local pubs, and high end nightclubs

As you'd expect, renting or owning here is expensive, but in return you get high quality services in the neighborhood and quiet neighbors. And history and tradition are a big part of Mayfair – everyone from the local barber to the butcher has been here for as long as anyone can remember.

Mayfair is bordered on the north by Marylebone, on the east by Soho, on the south by St. James's, and on the west by Kensington Gardens.
