Shacklewell has an above average violent crime rate and an above average property crime rate for London.
Shacklewell is just one of those areas that seems to be absorbed by the neighborhoods around it. With hip spots like Hackney and Dalston as neighbors, it's easy to be overlooked. Still, the housing market often has cheaper apartments and homes than most other parts of London.
It's hard to tell exact borders between Shackewell and its surrounds (and no doubt residents would find it hard to agree), but there are plenty of amenities within walking distance.
Shacklewell is bordered on the north by Stoke Newington, on the east by Hackney, on the south by Dalston, and on the west by Highbury.
