South Tottenham has a high violent crime rate and a high property crime rate for London.
South Tottenham is a distinctly middle class neighborhood that is surrounded by more affluent neighborhoods. This makes it a premium choice among immigrants from all over, which helps to add to the cultural diversity of the area. You’ll find that diversity represented in the local restaurants and independent shops.
There are a lot of affordable housing developments here, though they lack much personality. You'll also find some older Victorian style homes that are more expensive, but many of them have been converted into flats.
Small families and young professionals make up a large percentage of the population. There are some excellent primary schools in the neighborhood, which is a big draw for the families here. The community also offers lots of children's programs.
South Tottenham is bordered on the north by Seven Sisters, on the east by the Warwick Reservoirs, on the south by Stamford Hill, and on the west by Harringay.
