While much of London has been updated for hipper crowds, Stepney has remained a quaint and quiet part of town. Stepney attracts a lot of families, young couples, and first time home buyers.

You'll find elegant Georgian and Victorian style terraces on some of the nicer streets here, though those tend to be in short supply. Most of the housing stock is supplied by large apartment buildings, several of them brand new, such as the Fizzy City complex.

The main thoroughfare through town, Mile End Road, has some highly rated restaurants and there are pubs sprinkled around the neighborhood.
