West Kensington is a popular neighborhood for people who work in the City and central London because it's a relatively quick commute. It is a bit shabbier than its closely named neighbors, but it makes up for those shortcominings by being more affordable. (And "shabbier" here is relative: it's a nice area, but certainly not as upscale as the ritzy spots around it).
There are lots of amenities here, and the shopping mecca of High Street Kensington is a short walk away. There are numerous buses and a great transportation center, making it easy to get around London.
West Kensington is bordered on the north by Shepherd's Bush, on the east by Holland Park, on the south by Earls Court and Fulham, and on the west by Hammersmith.
