This predominantly Latino neighborhood east of Downtown Los Angeles celebrates its heritage with the "Latino Walk of Fame", which recognizes those who have made a cultural or social contribution. This is one of LA's more affordable neighborhoods and you'll find modest single-family homes and small apartment buildings.
There are plenty of tasty Mexican restaurants here, as well as some coffee shops, burger joints, and BBQ. For nightlife, take your pick of several casual bars and lounges.
East LA is bordered on the north by El Sereno, on the east by Montebello and Monterrey Park, on the south by Commerce, and on the west by Boyle Heights.
