  WHAT’S LIVING IN Glendale LIKE?

Glendale is a city of 200,000 about ten miles (16 km) north of Downtown Los Angeles. Glendale's commercial center is home to a mix of businesses, including entertainment (Dreamworks, The Walt Disney Company), healthcare, and aerospace to name a few. One interesting fact: Glendale is home to the highest concentration of Armenians outside of Armenia.

It also has excellent restaurants, shopping (take your pick from two upscale malls: the Glendale Galleria and the Americana at Brand), and entertainment options. Traffic on the freeways has risen to frustrating levels, but that’s true of most of Los Angeles.

Glendale's borders include a large section of the Verdugo Mountains, so hiking and biking are close by. The fantastic Griffith Park, with a zoo, museum, and miles of trails, is just next door as well.

Like much of the Valley, it gets really hot here in summer, often hitting 100F/38C in summer.

Glendale is bordered on the north by Sunland-Tujunga, on the east by La Crescenta-Montrose, La Cañada Flintridge, and Pasadena, and on the south by Atwater Village, Glassell Park, and Eagle Rock, and on the west by Griffith Park and Burbank.

Commute:
Burbank: 5 miles / 10-15 minutes by car / 15 minutes by transit / 30-35 minutes by bike
Century City: 18.5 miles / 50-100 minutes by car / 95-105 minutes by transit
Downtown LA: 8.9 miles / 25-55 minutes by car / 45-60 minutes by transit
Santa Monica: 22.3 miles / 50-90 minutes by car / 120 minutes by transit
