Mount Washington has a below average violent crime rate and an average property crime rate for Los Angeles.
Located northeast of Downtown Los Angeles, his is a diverse residential community that is becoming rapidly gentrified by an influx of people fleeing the high cost of living in LA's Los Feliz and Silver Lake neighborhoods. While you won't find much to do in Mount Washington besides enjoying nature, there are plenty of dining and shopping options in adjacent neighborhoods. Housing stock consists of Victorian mansions, California-style bungalows, and mid-century modernist homes. The hills of Mount Washington offer views of the Pacific Ocean on (rare) clear days.
Mount Washington is bordered on the north by Eagle Rock, on the east by Highland Park, on the south by Cypress Park, and on the west by Glassell Park.
