Pacific Palisades has a below average violent crime rate and a below average property crime rate for Los Angeles.
Though it has a small commercial center of high-end shopping, restaurants, banks, and offices, Pacific Palisades is a primarily residential community spanning from the ocean into the Santa Monica mountains to the north. This is one of LA's wealthiest neighborhoods and that's reflected in the manicured properties with large, expensive single family homes. There are some condos and townhouses as well, though they are similarly pricey. Many of the homes have views over the beach and ocean.
The area has plenty of parks with stunning views for you to get your hiking fix. And the Santa Monica Stairs (which are in the Palisades, despite the name) are a favorite of fitness buffs to run up and down on the weekends.
Like many of LA's wealthy neighborhoods, Pacific Palisades boasts excellent schools.
Pacific Palisades is bordered on the north by Woodland Hills and Tarzana, on the east by Brentwood, on the south by Santa Monica, and on the west by Malibu and Topanga.
