Palos Verdes Estates, or just "PV" to locals, is an upscale community on the Palos Verdes Peninsula that was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. – he's the son of the guy responsible for designing Central Park in New York City. The neighborhood consists mostly of large homes on large properties, but tucked along some of its roads are small shopping plazas. Many of the houses here enjoy amazing views of the ocean. Just watch out for the peacocks that roam freely.
Palos Verdes Estates is bordered on the north and east by Torrance, on the south by Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.
