Heidelberg West is a suburb only 12 kilometers northeast from the flavorful restaurants, hip nightclubs, and entertainment venues of central Melbourne. By all accounts, Heidelberg West is a neighborhood for people looking for cheap rent or an investment opportunity. Housing consists of modest single-story homes on quiet streets. Some residents say the neighborhood is peaceful and occupied by friendly seniors while others call it “dodgy”. At any rate, homes are cheap here, so if you are a young couple or single searching for affordability and proximity to the CBD, this isn't a bad choice.
