Cammeray has a low violent crime rate and a low property crime rate for Sydney.
Cammeray is an affluent, hilly, mostly residential suburb in North Sydney. Its leafy streets are lined with single-family Federation-style homes and cottages, with houses closer to the water being much larger. There are also some lowrise apartment buildings nearer the commercial part of town.
Miller Street, the community's main thoroughfare, has a collection of solid restaurants, a shopping center with a grocery store and pharmacy, and some pubs. There are a number of small parks throughout and golf aficionados can tee off at the Cammeray Golf Club, which allows non-member play.
The Cammeray Public Schools serves students in Kindergarten through Year 6 (about the age of 11 or 12).
This is a walkable, highly desired neighborhood known for friendly shops and neighbors so homes don't turn over often.
Cammeray is bordered on the north by Naremburn and Northbridge, on the east by Willoughby Bay and Cremorne, on the south by North Sydney, and on the west by Crows Nest.
