La Perouse is a small neighborhood in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs that sits on Frenchmans Bay, one of the small bays off of the larger Botany Bay. There are only a few hundred residents here, but the La Perouse Museum, Bare Island Fort, and history talks by local aboriginals have made this a tourist attraction. Because of this there are a number of restaurants located adjacent to the museum. The waters off La Perouse have some of the best scuba diving in New South Wales.
La Perouse is bordered on the north by Phillip Bay and on the east, south, and west by various bodies of water.
