Potts Point has a below average violent crime rate and a below average property crime rate for Sydney.
Potts Point is a vibrant suburb walking distance to the Sydney CBD. Beautiful 1920s art deco apartment buildings sit next to renovated terrace homes and the diverse crowd includes students, young professionals, and retirees.
There are a ton of restaurants for all tastes crammed into this neighborhood: Italian, Mediterrean, Thai, Japanese, Modern Australian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Vegetarian, French, Mexican, and your more humble sandwich shops and bar food.
Potts Point is also home to Kings Cross, long the seedy epicenter of Sydney's nightlife with a number of bars, clubs, and adult establishments. Recent laws have put a damper on the party here so it's no longer the raucous scene it once was.
Potts Point is bordered on the north by Sydney Harbour, on the east by Elizabeth Bay and Rushcutters Bay, on the south by Darlinghurst, and on the west by Woolloomooloo.
