An attractive little suburb with a celeb-attracting beach.
Tamarama has a low violent crime rate and a low property crime rate for Sydney.
Located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, Tamarama is a compact, exclusive suburb south of Bondi. It's become known as 'Glamarama' to locals thanks to the beautiful people often gracing its beach. Behind the beach, a park with plenty of green space makes a great place to have a barbecue or picnic.
Stunning modern and art deco homes sit on the cliffs surrounding the beach and park, offering terrific views of the ocean. There are no restaurants or shops in Tamarama, but it's a short walk to Bondi.
While the waves off the beach are good for surfing, the ocean here also has particularly strong currents and is considered one of the most dangerous beaches in New South Wales. However, the Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club, and all-volunteer group formed in 1906, can boast that they've yet to have a drowning fatality on their watch. For those less inclined to tempt fate, Tamarama is the middle of the spectacular Bondi-to-Bronte Ocean Walk.
Tamarama is bordered on the north by Bondi, on the east by the Tasman Sea, on the south by Bronte, and on the west by Bondi and Bronte.

Chatswood: 19.5 km / 30-55 minutes by car / 60 minutes by transit
Parramatta: 31 km / 50-85 minutes by car / 75 minutes by transit
