Willoughby has a low violent crime rate and a low property crime rate for Sydney.
Located in Sydney's Lower North Shore region, Willoughby has evolved from a quiet suburb to an increasingly fashionable place to live for families and professionals. The properties and homes here tend to be on the larger side, making them great for anyone with kids, and they sit on quiet, tree-lined streets.
The main thoroughfares, Willoughby Road and Mowbray Road, have a collection of home goods stores, chemists, a range of solid restaurants, and the requisite cafes to get your coffee fix.
A few nearby schools cover preschoolers and primary schooled students. High schools can be found in adjacent neighborhoods. And for anyone who is well past their formal education but looking to improve in the kitchen department, you can enroll yourself at the local BBQ School.
The local Bicentennial Reserve park has sports fields, play areas, picnic areas, and a bowling club. Within the park is the Willoughby Leisure Center, which offers programs for children, a health club, swimming pool, spa and sauna, and courts for netball, basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, and badminton.
Willoughby is bordered on the north by North Willoughby and Willoughby East, on the east by Castlecrag and Northbridge, on the south by Naremburn, and on the west by Artarmon.
