North Kensington has a high violent crime rate and a high property crime rate for London.
North Kensington is a strange mix of the types of beautiful homes you'd see in Kensington proper and council-owned public housing estates. Most of the restaurants here are fast food joints and there are a couple pubs, but otherwise there's not much of a dining or nightlife scene. Still, the area is gentrifying so you can expect this to change in the near future. There are a couple great little parks here, including the interestingly-named Little Wormwood Scrubs.
The residents tend to be slightly younger and more artistic and the neighborhood boasts the largest Moroccan population in all of England.
North Kensington is bordered on the north by Queen's Park, on the east by Maida Vale, on the south by Notting Hill, and on the west by East Acton.
