  WHAT’S LIVING IN Tottenham LIKE?

Tottenham is going through the latest iteration in its history: hipster haven. This neighborhood has become one of London's darlings and gentrification has firmly taken hold. You'll find some people who are thrilled with the changes and some who aren’t so happy. The area is incredibly ethnically diverse and that diversity is reflected in everything from the fitness classes to the cuisine.

Despite the gentrification, Tottenham keeps it classic when it comes to housing: Victorian-style terraces and semi-detached houses. A number of these homes have been converted to flats so there are plenty of affordable rentals in the area. You'll also find some modern apartment buildings. Most properties have a private yard or at least a communal green space.

The neighborhood is packed with restaurants: Sushi, Italian, Turkish, Indian, Vegetarian, pub food, Caribbean, Chinese, fish and chips – you could try a different type of food every night and not run out of choices for quite some time. And all of that great food can be washed down with a pint at one of the two dozen pubs around town.

This is a fairly green area and the neighborhood sports several parks where you will see people jogging, walking their dogs, or just out for a stroll. And for families, there are a number of good schools here.

Despite all the positives, the area does still have some problems and there is a lot of traffic. And on game days, the Tottenham FC attracts hordes of fans.

Tottenham is bordered on the north by Edmonton, on the east by Walthamstow, on the south by Seven Sisters, and on the west by Wood Green.
