Hancock Park has an above average violent crime rate and a high property crime rate for Los Angeles.
Hancock was once one of LA's most prominent neighborhoods, developed to house the executives and stars from the nearby movie studios. While most of the studios have moved to cheaper real estate, it's still a desirable neighborhood and its history explains the large homes set on large properties set on tree-lined streets. Since there are only some restaurants along Hancock Parks' borders this is a very quiet place to live.
Hancock Park is bordered on the west by Fairfax, on the north by Hollywood, on the east by Larchmont and Windsor Square, and on the south by Mid-Wilshire.
