Vauxhall has a high violent crime rate and a high property crime rate for London.
Vauxhall is one of the many London neighborhoods that doesn't make it on the radar of most people. Nonetheless, it has a great location on the Thames, a bustling town center, and offers a tightknit community feel that you don’t find everywhere. There has been some modernization lately and a burgeoning LGBTQ community that has brought more and more people here.
Many people move to Vauxhall because even though prices are increasing as it becomes more popular, it is still relatively affordable. Though the area looks a little rough around the edges, it is mostly young professionals and students who are taking advantage of the bar scene and low prices. Since the area is a bit loud, it's not a big destination for families. However, if you do have children there are some great playgrounds and a lovely lavender garden.
From Vauxhall you have an easy commute to just about anywhere. And after work the riverside location provides a great space to clear your head on a waterfront run.
Fans of the recent James Bond movies will recognize one of the massive buildings here: Vauxhall is home to Britain's secret intelligence services.
Vauxhall is bordered on the north by Lambeth, on the east by Kennington, on the south by Stockwell, and on the west by the Thames.
