Whitechapel has a high violent crime rate and a high property crime rate for London.
Whitechapel, located in East London, is a popular neighborhood for financial services workers and their families. The main draw is the short commute into banking hubs the City or Canary Wharf. This convenience translates into a higher cost of living since it is a desirable area for people with cash, so you can expect a higher price tag on housing.
The neighborhood is fairly quiet, but you're walking distance from more happening places. There are some nice pubs and a few terrific independent coffee shops in town.
And you do have the basics at hand, like grocery stores, some of which deliver. You'll also find gyms, doctors, and hair salons so you don't need to go elsewhere to run errands.
Whitechapel is bordered on the north by Bethnal Green, on the east by Stepney, on the south by Tower Hill, and on the west by the City.
