Del Rey is fairly nondescript as far a neighborhoods go. This small, diverse community is predominantly residential. The wide streets are lined with modest single story homes and beyond some shopping plazas there isn't much to do. But it's near neighborhoods with lots to do since it's adjacent to a couple cool areas. And its location near two major highways makes it simple to get elsewhere in the city.
Del Rey is bordered to the west by Marina del Rey, to the north by Culver City and Mar Vista, to the south by Playa Vista, and to the east by Culver City.
