Springvale is an attractive suburb 23 kilometers southeast from the flavorful restaurants, shopping, and nightlife of Melbourne. But if you want to stay local, rest assured that this neighborhood has a lot to offer.

Shopping and dining options are clustered in two main areas along the main thoroughfare in town, Springvale Road. Just outside the local train station is a large commercial zone with grocery stores, banks, a post office, and a number of restaurants offering ethnic cuisine. About two kilometers north is another area with more businesses, services, and retail. It's got several excellent markets that can get quite crowded on the weekends.

For fans of speed, the suburb is home to Sandown Racecourse, which hosts major car races including the Sandown 500. There's also a horse track.

Another perk of living here? You're not very far from the beach.

Residents enjoy a strong community spirit. This is an excellent place for families, retirees, or anyone searching for an affordable place to live.
