Allawah has a low violent crime rate and a low property crime rate for Sydney.
Allawah is a quiet, residential neighborhood straddling the main southern rail line heading into the Sydney CBD. Its access to the train station, schools, and shopping has made it popular with professionals and families. It's also a quick ride to the calm beaches abutting Botany Bay.
Almost all the homes here are flats and you'll find a mix of older brick apartments and more modern buildings. There are very few dining options in this suburb and you won't find any nightlife.
Allawah is bordered on the north by Hurstville and Bexley, on the east by Carlton, on the south by Carlton and Blakehurst, and on the west by South Hurstville and Hurstville.
