WHAT’S LIVING IN South Pasadena LIKE?

South Pasadena is small city northeast of Downtown Los Angeles that earns high marks for livability. This tightknit community offers year round activities, good transit, and excellent elementary, middle, and high schools. Residents tout SoPa, as its known to some locals, as a great place to raise a family.

There is plenty to do around here. Dozens of restaurants offer everything from barbecue to ramen to Indian to upscale French fare. And while there isn't exactly a bustling nightlife here, there are some highly rated bars and music venues. The South Pasadena Farmers' Market is open every Thursday from 4:00-8:00pm and provides residents with a great place to get fresh produce, baked goods, teas and coffees, and other tasty products. On top of that, you're just a few minute drive from the shopping and dining hub of Old Town Pasadena

The great livability comes at a price, though. While condos may be attainable based on the average person's income, most single-family homes are quite expensive. For your money you'll get your pick from a range of styles, incuding Spanish, Craftsman, and modern homes. For renters, the northeast corner of the neighborhood has a cluster of apartment buildings.

There are several parks around South Pasadena featuring playgrounds, athletic fields, picnic areas, and hiking trails.

South Pasadena is bordered on the north by Pasadena, on the east by San Marino, on the south by Alhambra, and on the west by Highland Park.
