Rancho Palos Verdes has a low violent crime rate and a low property crime rate for Los Angeles.
Rancho Palos Verdes, aka "RPV" to locals, is an upscale neighborhood on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It's quite similar to other communities on the peninsula: it's got big houses, large properties, quiet streets, good schools, and stunning views of the ocean and city. You do pay for the seclusion and exclusivity in more ways than one, however – unless you happen to work on the peninsula, you can count on a long commute wherever you're headed.
Rancho Palos Verdes is bordered on the north by Palos Verdes Estates and Rolling Hills Estates, on the east by San Pedro, and on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean.
