Bellingham has an average violent crime rate and a below average property crime rate for London.
Bellingham is a quiet, residential neighborhood in southeast London that has great transit connections to the rest of the city. It's popular with families and professionals, and you'll find plenty of empty nesters and retirees here as well. The large Nigerian population here gives it a multicultural feel. This isn't a particularly exciting place to live, but if you're looking for an affordable suburb with a strong community then it's a solid choice.
There are plenty of apartments within this area and what you get really depends on what you can afford. For a cheaper price, you’ll be able to get an older but serviceable apartment. If you are willing to spend a little more, you can get an updated home.
The center of Bellingham is Randlesdown Road and features a supermarket, hair salons, restaurants, pub, a gym, and a dry cleaner. You'll also find good ethnic food and some pubs in town.
Bellingham is bordered on the north by Hither Green, on the east by Grove Park, on the south by Beckenham, and on the west by Bell Green.
