  WHAT’S LIVING IN Rotherhithe LIKE?

Rotherhithe is a nature lover’s refuge, with wildlife reserves, marinas, and green spaces on the banks of the Thames. It's a favorite area for City workers and their families because it's an easy commute. There are a lot of young media professionals here as well.

After this neighborhood went through regeneration in the 80s, a lot of new housing popped up here. Victorian homes converted to flats, apartment complexes, and even some single family homes are available. This has made a lot of housing available overall, which has kept housing prices low. For people who love the (mostly) lowrise look of the neighborhood, be warned that a number of highrise developments are being planned.

There’s a lot to do within Rotherhithe, especially if you're a foodie since you can work your way through the few dozen restaurants here. If bars are more your speed, you’ll have a lot of pubs to choose from, plus cocktail and wine bars.

For those who like shopping you won’t find a ton of options, but you’ll find some great choices in the nearby markets. Around town is a sports center, library, leisure park, bowling, cinemas, and a little farm on the docks.

Rotherhithe is bordered on the north and east by the Thames, on the south by Surrey Quays, and on the west by Bermondsey.
