Rolling Hills Estates has a below average violent crime rate and a below average property crime rate for Los Angeles.
Equestrians unite! Located on the upscale Palos Verdes Peninsula, Rolling Hills Estates brings countryside living to the suburbs. You might think you're in some rural area as you drive through the streets and pass sprawling properties with three-rail white fences. Many homeowners here keep horses and you'll frequently see riders on the more than 25 miles of trails.
There's not much happening here, though. Most shops and restaurants are clustered in a few shopping centers, all located on a short stretch of road. There are some well-rated restaurants and basics like a grocery store, but for more entertainment you'll have to head elsewhere. So if you're looking for a quiet, residential setting, this could be the place for you.
Rolling Hills Estates is bordered on the north by Palos Verdes Estates and Torrance, on the east by Lomita, and on the south and west by Rancho Palos Verdes.
