Gatewood is a hilly, residential neighborhood in West Seattle. Its hilltop location provides spectacular views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountain range, and downtown Seattle and it boasts the highest elevation in the city. You'll mostly find well-maintained single-family homes, along with some newer condos and apartment buildings.

There are some basic shops and services in town, but for anything more exciting you'll need to head to the Junction neighborhood.

Myrtle Reservoir Park provides walking trails and plenty of space for a picnic (and a plaque to mark its spot as the aforementioned highest point in Seattle).

Gatewood is bordered on the north by Seaview and Fairmount Park, on the east by High Point and Roxhill, on the south by Fauntleroy, and on the west by Puget Sound.
