Finsbury Park has a high violent crime rate and a high property crime rate for London.
Finsbury Park is one of London's more affordable areas to live in, mostly because it has a bit of a reputation. Long gone are the days when crime ran rampant on the streets, but Londoners have a long memory and tend to avoid it. Still, people are warming up to this neighborhood and thanks to good transit access to the rest of the city, more and more people are moving here.
This is a mostly residential neighborhood. There are Victorian terraces aplenty, though many have been converted to flats. Rent prices are on the rise around the transportation hubs, so you'll need to act quickly on those properties if you like one. As you move further away from the stations you'll find cheaper prices.
There are a mix of cultures here, including the largest Algerian population in London. You'll see that mix reflected in the dining and shopping experiences here. Finsbury Park also has a lot of young professionals thanks to the relatively low cost of living and good transit options.
The area is a little calmer than surrounding spaces, but you’ll find a nice pub scene and some great entertainment options, especially during football season and the summer. Every year it hosts Feis, an Irish music festival.
You’ve got all the basic amenities around Finsbury Park but the best feature here is a massive park of the same name. You'll find athletic fields, plenty of green space to lounge around, and a pond where you can rent boats.
Finsbury Park is bordered on the north by Stroud Green, on the east by Stoke Newington, on the south by Holloway, and on the west by Archway.
