Denny Blaine has an average violent crime rate and a below average property crime rate for Seattle.
Denny-Blaine is an affluent, residential waterfront neighborhood in east central Seattle. This is a quiet area with wealthy families and big homes. You will not find much entertainment around, although the adjacent Madison Park area has plenty of shops and restaurants.
You can take in the outdoors in one of the neighborhoods parks, including Viretta Park where you'll find a memorial to the famous Nirvana front man and former Denny-Blaine resident, Kurt Cobain.
Denny-Blaine is bordered on the north by Madison Park, on the east by Lake Washington, on the south by Madrona, and on the west by Madison Valley.

This is a public with a great view of the lake.
A grassy lookout below steep slopes and brush, this park is suitable for a quick stop and a look at the lake while on your boulevard tour. Park stairs lead up to 39th & John from the Boulevard.
This secluded park offers a planted trail that leads to the beach, but that starts between two private driveways, so please be respectful. It leads down through the woods to a beach lawn. It is reached by a tiny, residential access road with no parking, but offers public shore access, benches, and great big trees.
